If participating in any boating activities with the Power Boat Section or alone it is the Skippers responsibility to ensure that :-
  1. A RST is held by the skipper or driver of the boat
  2. Complete the Section Database questionaire which provides emergency information if required.
  3. It is the Skipper's responsibility to decide whether she/he is experienced enough to participate in the activity and any deficiency in their knowledge or boat's abilities should be advised to the Cruise Captain and Rear Commodore, prior to the event taking place.

  4. All required safety equipment is on board (refer Boating and safety section of this website for a guidance or the DPI web site link which is on these pages.)
  5. A working 27mhz radio is turned on and audible with motor operating. Working channel will be advised by the Cruise Captain.
  6. Log in and Log out with the relative Sea Rescue Group.

  8. If not completing the whole excursion,please ensure that the Cruise Captain is made aware of your intentions and where you will depart the convoy.
  9. All boats to hold their speeds to the speed of the slowest boat.
  10. All boats to observe at regular intervals the progress of the boats at the rear and front and advise the Cruise Captain of any problems, then offer assistance,if required.
  11. Each boat to observe the weather,sea, any other water users, any obstructions and not assume that by following the boat in front that you are on a safe course.
  12. Give assistance to any boat that is in trouble or requests assistance, bearing in mind that your boat and crew's safety has to have first consideration. If unable to assist contact a sea rescue group or police and stand by, if possible.
